DENVER, CO, June 23rd, 2022 — Drs. Jerrica Kirkley and Matthew Wetschler, co-founders of Plume, participated in Endeavor’s virtual International Selection Panel and were selected to join the Endeavor Global network of high-impact entrepreneurs. As the culmination of their Endeavor selection process, the founders presented to a panel of Endeavor community members before ultimately being selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs.
“Not only are Matthew and Jerrica building one of the fastest-growing companies in Colorado, Plume, they are entirely disrupting the healthcare experience for the transgender community. Until Plume, more than 2 million trans people in the U.S. have been entirely underserved by traditional healthcare – Plume ensures quality care for everyone,” said Chris Miller, Endeavor Entrepreneur and CEO of Everside Health.
Despite 80% of the transgender community desiring gender-affirming care, as much as 50% of patients report harrassment or denial when requesting treatment, and 50% of patients report “training” their doctor on their unique medical needs. “Providing the transgender community accessibility to the resources and services they need to thrive is the foundational driver of Plume,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jerrica Kirkley. “We want to remove the awkward, harassing, and abusive interactions many trans individuals face in traditional healthcare clinics.”
Plume is the largest provider of healthcare to the transgender community, offering high-quality, gender-affirming healthcare services to 10,000 members across 41 states (and counting). With the vision to transform healthcare for every trans life, Plume is rapidly scaling its services nationwide for GAHT and mental health, on its way to becoming the place for holistic transgender care.
“Jerrica and I are regularly considering how we can think bigger and make a meaningful impact for the transgender community. Endeavor is a network full of entrepreneurs that do just that – think big. Endeavor has supported us as we develop the operational discipline required to scale Plume, and we’re excited to have their global support as we continue to rewrite the transgender healthcare experience,” said Dr. Matthew Wetschler.
On June 22nd, at Endeavor’s International Selection Panel, Jerrica and Matthew met with and were selected by a panel of Endeavor Global mentors, including Dan Green, Corporate Partner, Gunderson Dettmer LLP; Allison Light, Managing Director, West Ventures; Stefan Weitz, Executive Vice President, Advanced Technology, Radial; and Martin Escobari, Co-President, Managing Director and Head of Latin America, General Atlantic Partners.
Jerrica and Matthew are the 13th and 14th entrepreneurs supported by Endeavor Colorado. They join Mark Frank of Sondermind, Fred Kneip of CyberGRX, Chris Miller of Everside Health, Dan Holt & Kelly Seidl of BillGO, Mario Ciabarra of Quantum Metric, Robin McIntosh & Lisa McLaughlin from Workit Health, Rajat Bhargava of JumpCloud, Sal Gentile & David Pinkert of Friday Health Plans, and Lee Mayer of Havenly.
